Job Location: The Campus, Pun Hlaing Estate, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon.
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, (Monday to Friday)
This role will be employed under Yoma Bank and will lead Wave merchant acquisition and growth initiatives, including activation, transaction performance, revenue growth, and team management, to achieve business objectives and drive market expansion.
Position Purpose
The Merchant Sales Lead is responsible for leading merchant acquisition and growth activities, managing a sales team, driving merchant activation and transaction performance, and maintaining strong relationships with key merchants and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Merchant Acquisition & Business Development
- Lead the team to achieve monthly merchant acquisition targets.
- Develop and manage merchant sales pipelines.
- Identify and onboard strategic and high-potential merchants.
- Conduct regular market visits and business development activities.
- Support expansion projects in assigned territories.
Merchant Activation & Growth
- Ensure newly onboarded merchants become active and transact regularly.
- Monitor activation rates and merchant performance.
- Re-engage inactive merchants and improve merchant retention.
- Conduct merchant engagement and relationship-building activities.
Revenue & Transaction Growth
- Drive daily transaction and revenue growth.
- Acquire high-volume merchants and strategic partners.
- Monitor merchant transaction trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Support initiatives to increase merchant contribution and usage.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team.
- Monitor individual and team KPI performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and field coaching.
- Ensure achievement of business targets and compliance with company policies.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key merchants.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve merchant issues within SLA.
- Support marketing campaigns, merchant promotions, and partnership initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Merchant Acquisition, or FinTech.
- At least 2–3 years of team leadership experience.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel for merchant visits and business development activities.
